“The Presidential Forum, staged exclusively for each 50th Reunion class two years out, will precede this year’s annual Fall Mini Reunion Weekend. The Forum begins Thursday morning, September 27th and continues through lunch the following day. This unique event will provide a rare occasion for our class to hear from and interact with College leaders who will discuss significant aspects of the academic program and student life on campus. The attached program will provide you with the full agenda of activities.

To pique your interest, highlights of this year’s Forum include discussions focusing on the Tutorial Program and Winter Study, both of which have been designated as recipients of our 50th Class Gift, and the controversial issue of free expression at Williams. We also will have a singular opportunity to meet and spend time with Maud Mandel, soon to be installed Williams’ 18th president.

Recognition and special thanks to Bob Ware and Tom Crowley for collaborating with Mark Robertson and his 50th Reunion Program staff in shaping what undoubtedly will prove to be a most interesting program. Please note that there is no charge associated with attending the Forum though alumni and guests are responsible for travel and lodging.

The Fall Mini Reunion Weekend officially starts Friday and concludes on Sunday, September 30th.  Beginning Friday afternoon and into Saturday morning will be a schedule of activities to include faculty lectures, panel discussions, and tours. The traditional multi-class reception and dinner will be held Friday evening at the Williams Inn where we will join other classes approaching their 50th Reunion. Saturday afternoon features a tailgate luncheon and football game vs. perennial power house Trinity at Weston Field. That evening the Class of ’70 will convene for its own dinner at Mezze.

The attached material will provide more detailed Mini Reunion information. As you will note on the registration form you will be receiving soon, there are some activity costs associated with the Mini Reunion, but they are on an a la carte basis. To register on-line for either or both events, please go to the following link: http://williams.imodules .com/50thminireunion2018.

If you do plan to attend, the College has reserved a limited number of rooms  on a first come, first served basis at the Williams Inn (413-458-9371). Some rooms may yet be available. Please remember to reference Williams College 50th Reunion Program when requesting a room reservation. Other lodging options can be found by accessing this link: https://www.williams.edu /visitors/.
